Carp Fishing Rules
- Persons accessing my fishery: Press Manor Fishing Lakes Ltd, do so at their own risk. We cannot be held responsible for any accident injury to person, vehicles or possessions, whilst on the premises. It is the person’s responsibility to ensure they are protected and are aware of the dangers associated with fishing, before entering the site.
- These rules must be read and understood by those accessing Press Manor.
- If you wish to view the Carp Lake, please phone or e-mail me to arrange a suitable time, don’t access the lake without permission.
- Day Sessions and Night Sessions must be booked in advance prior to fishing using the Go Catch Fish App on your phone or tablet – Download www.gocatch.fish
- We have 13 pegs on the carp lake, however we limit the number of Pegs used in any day, to 8.
- Litter – It is the responsibility of any angler (and their non-fishing partner if applicable), to ensure that their peg and surrounding area is kept free of litter. Take all litter home. If there is litter on your peg upon arrival, please phone me immediately.
- As a courtesy to all other anglers, no radios, open fires, disposable BBQs, swimming, or heavy drinking is permitted. The highest standard of behaviour is expected from all. As voices carry across water, from dusk or 9.50 pm (whichever is earlier) noise must completely stop.
- Maximum speed for vehicles is 10 mph.
- Park vehicles so others can pass easily.
- If anglers are being dropped off ,please unload your gear, and get your driver to leave as soon as possible.
- For security and Insurance purposes: no driving on the fishery after dark.
- Any ‘Takeaways or Re Supplies’ must be collected from trout lake entrance.
- Under 16’s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
- Do not invite people onto the Carp Lake whilst you are fishing. If people turn up, it’s your responsibility to send them away immediately.
- No Tents,only Fishing ‘Bivvies’ permitted.
- For Bio Security – all landing nets and un-hooking mats must be bone dry before fishing.
- Please leave toilets clean.
- 2 rods maximum.
- No floating bread on hooks.
- For security reasons night fisherman’s vehicles will be locked in, until Trout Lake opening time in the morning.
- Carp are not to be lifted above knee height at any time. When photographing, do not leave the carp on it’s side looking into the sun, and use Carp Care Kits!
- All fish to be carefully returned (alive) to the Carp Lake within 3 minutes of capture. If you would like a picture, ensure your camera is ready beforehand.No sacking or retaining of fish is permitted.
- Bait Bans: no nuts, beans of any kind, or plastic baits on rigs.
- Zig Rigs are permitted if used with natural baits (i.e no plastic baits).
- Manufactured Barbless hooks only. (No Micro Barbs or Flattened Barbs permitted).
- No lead core, braided main line, fixed leads, or snag leaders allowed.
- Coated Braid Hook Lengths are permitted.
- Use 32inch plus landing nets, cradles or large unhooking mats; minimum thickness 40mm.
- No angler’s baited rod must be unattended.
- Bait boats are permitted provided they don’t interfere with other anglers fishing – i.e. use boats sensibly.
- If an angler arrives opposite you, it’s your responsibility to reel in your rigs, no further than half way across the lake
- If you want to bring a dog phone me beforehand.
- Random rig checks – please do not be offended if asked.
- Remember these rules only exist to ensure the welfare of the Carp, and the consistency of your sport. If the rules are broken you will be asked to leave the site immediately. Please report anyone in breach of these rules.
