Trout Lake Overview

Press Manor Trout Lake is a beautifully situated 5.5 acre fly fishing lake, set in the Peak District around 5 miles north of Matlock and 6 miles south of Chesterfield.

The lake is well stocked with Rainbow & Brown trout.

With average stocked fish over 2lb, mainly bank fishing, boat access, and good on-site facilities, it is an ideal setting for a relaxed and rewarding day’s fishing.

Trout Prices and Opening Times

Choose from full day, evening, catch and release, or 2 trout kill tickets (afterwards it is Catch and Release)

Full Day – 2 Trout Ticket — £34.00
Full Day – Catch and Release — £24.00
Evening – Catch & Release — £21.00
Evening – 2 Trout Ticket — £30.00
Boat Hire – 2 People (Electric Engine) — £18.00
Boat Hire – 2 People (Rowing Boat) — £15.00

Concessions are available for disabled anglers, over 65s and under 16s.
On 2 trout tickets, your first 2 fish are kept, then fishing continues on a catch and release basis up to 18 fish.

- Weekdays: 08:30 – Dusk
- Weekends: 08:00 – Dusk

Evening Times:
- Based on 5 hours before dusk

Trout Fishing Rules

Please follow our trout lake rules to protect fish welfare and ensure enjoyable fishing for everyone

Barbless or de-barbed hooks only
Artificial flies only.
Maximum 3 flies on a cast.
No boobies, snakes or stingers.
NO wading at all.
Fish over 3.5lb and All Brown Trout must be returned reguardless of fish kill tickets.
Life jackets must be worn when boat fishing, float tubing or wading.
Please fish courteously and respect other lake users.
Boats to keep clear of bank anglers.
